How to get Nigerian Tourism visa

To apply for a Tourism visa for the federal republic of Nigeria is not as difficult as some may think. The link to the official immigration website is https://immigration.gov.ng/visas/  . 

There are two categories of Nigerian Tourism visa. If your fall into any of these groups, you probably need a Tourism visa.

Family Visitation Tourism Visa
This category of Tourism visa is for Foreign Nationals who wish to visit their family or friends that reside in Nigeria.

Traveler’s Tourism Visa
This category is for those foreign nationals who want to travel to Nigeria for tourism.

Requirements for Traveler’s Tourism Visa

  • ·         A valid 6 months passport with at least two pages empty
  • ·         Evidence of sufficient funds
  • ·         A valid return tickets
  • ·         A hotel reservation evidence


Requirements for family visitation Tourism Visa

  • ·         A valid 6 months passport with at least two pages empty
  • ·         Evidence of sufficient funds
  • ·         A valid return tickets
  • ·         A letter of invitation 
  •            Address of host in Nigeria or hotel reservation evidence.

Steps to Apply


  1. Apply online at https://portal.immigration.gov.ng/visa/freshVisa
  2. Make payments at https://portal.immigration.gov.ng/visa/freshVisa
  3. Attach a passport size photograph on the visa FORM IMM22 as well as other requirements and submit via

  • ·         Post ( to the Consulate of Nigeria where applicant is resident )
  • ·         In Person ( At the designated visa application centre )
  • ·         In Person ( At the Consulate of Nigeria where applicant is resident )
